Emma Elizabeth Georgina Vare (1846 - 1927) 1851 and 1861 Census
« on: Thursday 24 January 19 15:41 GMT (UK) »
I seem to have lost Emma.

Emma is registered as being born in the Bitterne area of Hampshire in 1846.  She seems to be the daughter of William and Sarah Vare and has a brother Thomas Stephen who was born in 1852.

They are christened together on 11 May 1856 at Westend, Hampshire.

Between 1871 and her death in 1927 she is living with in various combinations of her uncle and aunt William and Catherine Wright, her brother Thomas and her nephew (Thomas's son) Fabian.

Ideally I would like to find Emma in 1851 and 1861.  In 1861 she is *not* with the Wrights although Thomas is.

(I don't need to find anything about Thomas Stephen Vare as I have been able to follow him and his somewhat colourful marriage even though he too seemed to live out most of that marriage with Catherine and Emma.... ;D ))

Thank you  :)

Sarah Vare age 44 death recorded Southampton March quarter 1853

William Vare age 49 death recorded South Stoneham June quarter 1858.

Children taken in by aunts and uncles after the deaths of the parents?

Thank you both

I did think that perhaps Mum and Dad had died when Thomas and Emma were young and I think that pretty much confirms it - as well as the extra siblings I knew nothing about  ;D

That does look like its Emma on the census as well.

Thank you again   :)
