She searched for 61 years to find her mother and her delight at finding her still alive is just lovely.
Doesn't say it in this article but I heard they found a first cousin via DNA

I started on family research a decade ago hoping to find cousins for my Mother who.s mother was adopted

 found that she.d known  "cousin"from.her adopted family all her life ..it was a lady she.d called aunty ...who was same age as her mother ...the adopted parents were aged 60 when they took her in .

Then found  a half cousin thru DNA who is 35 years younger than her ...from birth mothers legitimate sons 2nd marriage ..

There are no cousins from her mums birth father as he never married

But ive  been tracing a tree for him ...
He had 11 full siblings and 6 half siblings

My nana was born ...1900
and I.ve just communicated with someone
Who.s mother is her  (half)cousin and very much alive
Nan.s father was eldest son born 1870
His sister was the youngest of the half sisters born in 1902 .

So these cousins are about 40 years apart
There may also be a 98 year old cousin of his youngest full sister still around .

They may have known about their "Victorian"ENGLISH  cousin
Their parents lived  a few streets away from 1900- 1906 when the emigrated to USA   
The cousins  seem  to have long life genes
Many living to 90.s and one was 101 .

I just hope they found the right person.  Some of the Ancestry trees wouldn't be much help ..
