There seems to be a likely death registration
Q1 1854 for a Giles Pinkney, aged 72, registered in Tynemouth District,

https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/tynemouth.html

That is the area that Tynemouth Registration District covered, if you have his death cert and an address from that it may help to narrow down the search for a burial place.

Okay, that agrees with where they are in the 1851 census.
I can't see anything on Free Reg, nor on Family Search but the info about where they lived may help someone who can access the burial records for the area.

Though there are other Pin[C]kneys in the pre 1858 wills
http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php   nothing coming up for this man

Only thing I can see in the online newspapers is a possible marriage for his son,
Newcastle Courant 27 Jun 1851, page 4, column 4

At North Shields, at the Catholic Church, on the 22nd inst., John, son of Mr Giles Pinkey, of Percy Main, to Jane, only daughter of the late Mr George Hogg, formerly of Seaton Sluice.

I can access the cemetery burial records for the Tyneside area at the North Shields library.  I will check to see if I can find him in the records when work next fits in with opening hours - likely any time within next two weeks. :)
