Hello there.

I'm looking at a ancestor record from the UK 1939 Register and one of the entries has what looks like an "S" written in the M or F column. Could anyone tell me what this means?

Mistake (S should be in S, M, W or D column)?

As the column is headed M or F   I would imagine that it is probably an error by the person completing the form.  What is written against those entries in the S(ingle) Widowed) M(arried) D(ivorced) column.

Are the pages either side the same.

Hello and thank you for the replies. It would make sense that it was an error but what made me question that was there was an S in the maried column also. I think that an enrty error is the most likely.
