The inevitable first questions: Do you know what religion they were? Was "Morren" Winifred's maiden name or did you mean to type "Morris"? Have you found them on earlier censuses in England?

Here is the transcription for reference:
1881
St Micheal Civil Parish, Chester, Cheshire
11 Rock Court

Patrick Morris, 60, married, builder's laborer, b Ireland, Galway
Winifred, wife, 55, married, b Ireland, Galway
John Morris, grandson 7, born, marital state not listed, scholar, b Cheshire, Chester
Ellen Milthorn, visitor, 56, marital state not listed, b Ireland, Galway

Do you know who John Morris' father was and his estimated year of birth? Any other children in the family, were any or all born in Ireland?
Who is Ellen Milthorn, also born in Galway? That surname should be a lot easier to locate, compared to Morris. She may be a neighbor from back home, or Winifred's sister even - not sure if "visitor" covered sister in law.

In 1861 -- there are 3 older children as well;

Ellen 12
Ann 10
Catherine 8

all born Chester.

So they have been in England for a while on the face of it. Patrick also born Galway.

On the childrens' birth registrations on the GRO -- Winifred's surname varies. The children were registered in Great Boughton Reg Dist

Ellen -- mother's maiden name Mourne
Ann --- mother's maiden name Moore
Catherine -- mother's maiden name -- Moran
Julia --- mothers maiden name -- Moorne
Jeremiah ---"---------------------Moorne
Mary J ---------------------------Moorne

If I have the right children that is!

Winifred's burial is shown on the Deceased on Line site --- doesn't help as far as her correct maiden name is concerned of course!

She was buried on 21st April 1884 at Overleigh Old Cemetery, Chester shown as aged 52. Paupers grave as several random people in the same one.

The family must have been RC as the officiating minister is shown as Father Clement.
Patrick was buried in the same cemetery on 31 Dec 1902 aged 81 --- again in a pauper's grave, but a different one to Winifred. He was buried from the Workhouse.

(Again no help in finding Winifred's birth I'm afraid -- but just in case you didn't know).
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Wendy -- you should be able to see, or request a copy of, Patrick Morris's Workhouse papers or at least his admission. There will be a cost though, unless you simply go along and view them.

I would imagine they will be at Cheshire Archives.
