Edward Cockett B 1832 and Susan Halford Cockett b 1830.

Thank you again to Ciderdrinker yesterday. My cousin has 2 other brickwalls.

1/. Edward Cockett. Born in Southampton 1832....died 1865. Not on the 1851 census.


2/. Her question to me is...Can you do some hunting for Susan Halford Cockett.  Have her birth in 1830 to William and Mary Cockett in Southampton, she is not on the 1841 census with her mother and siblings - but found a death for a Susan Cockett in 1832, also in Southampton, Hants? Are there 2 Susan Cockett's or is the death in 1832, the same Susan Cockett??

Not too much information on the burial record

Buried at Southampton St Mary June 29th aged 1 year, so possibly your Susan. I can’t see another child born within the relevant timeframe either.

Edward Cockett born 10 October 1832 in Southampton was a merchant seaman. He first went to sea in 1846 as an apprentice.

He was probably at sea when the 1851 census was taken.
