I know it is not good to assume but on Mary and Richard Reynolds marriage on Free Reg, the witnesses are Thomas and Joseph Wendon.

That is strange as CornwallOPC have the marriage witnesses as Richard Reynolds & William Keast

Just looked, so have freereg

1841 does not give relationships, she is in a separate 'household' from William & Mary and is a servant

In 1861 Richard & Mary Reynolds have Mary Phillips -lodger-pauper- formerly farmers wife living with them.  That looks like Mary widow of William.

Mary was buried 01 Jul 1861 age 93.  Her death may have been registered by Richard or Mary Reynolds, it could show their relationship to her.

If it was my family I would be looking at William & Mary as her parents unless I could find anything that stated she was the daughter of Samuel  :-\

parish marriage entry confirms witnesses as Richard Reynolds & William Keast

No Samuel baptised to the couple so it looks unlikely her father would be Samuel. Agree with Rosie on getting the death cert for Mary Phillips to see if there is a relationship on it.

I think that the Mary & William Phillips in 1841 and 1851 (and Mary in 1861) are the same people - with census ages totally wrong.  They are consistent in that Mary is a lot older than William.

Oh dear,  what a mess I have made of this . 😳

Start again at the beginning with Richard and Mary Reynolds, correct marriage witnesses this time. Sounds like it is probably William Phillips not Samuel Phillips.

Starting point send for the certificate.

Thank you very much for your time and patience much appreciated.

We love to help  :)  I was hoping that perhaps William or Mary had left wills but I am not seeing anything.  We can only hope that the death certificate has a clue.  You can get a PDF of the death from the GRO but be aware they are increasing the price of these from £6 to £7 on the 16th February.

Thanks for that little tip about the GRO.

All this today started because I was checking the Mary Reynolds line to be sure my facts were correct as my DNA results have just been delivered.
I am really disappointed about Mary Wedon though her line took me back to  ninth g grandmother who was also Diana's ?xg grandmother. Jane Symes,
I could have dined out on that for ages😬😬😬. Invite William and Harry's wedding must have got lost in the post.

Thanks once again for your help.
