Hi, I have two ancestors; both listed on census information as being from Ireland. I have them living in Oldham Lancashire from the 1861 Census. The 1881 Census mentions Queens County as follows;
Address: King Street, 11 Court, Oldham
Name: Catherine Delaney
Place of Birth: Queens County, Ireland
Age: 37 years
Name: John Delaney
Place of Birth: Queens County, Ireland
Age: 39 years
Occupation: Sawyer
I have lots of information after the 1861 Census - they have several children all in Oldham and I have information of their deaths and burials but I have nothing before 1861. On all of their children's birth certificates Catherine's maiden name is given as WALSH and as the following 1861 Census lists them as already being married aged 22 years I guess they were married in Queens County;
Address: Henshaw Street, St Mary’s, Oldham
Name: John Delany
Place of Birth: Ireland
Age: 22 years
Relation to Head of House: Head
Occupation: Speed Tenter, Cotton
Name: Catherine Delany
Place of Birth: Ireland
Age: 22 years
Relation to Head of House: Wife
Occupation: Outdoor Labourer
Could anyone help with any other information please, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks, Luke
