Electoral rolls look up

Hi, I have found a newspaper article referring to a Mrs Alice Godfrey of 83 Northchurch Road, Southgate Road, Kingsland Hackney in 1940. The article states that she is aged 45. I am interested to know who else was living at this address with her.

Have you tried the 1939 register, if you know her approximate birth date

The 1939 register is the closest you will get as they did not produce electoral registers during WW2.
You can search the 1939 register by address

Hi Rosie I have not had any luck finding the address on the 1939 index, perhaps I am doing it wrong, I only ever search on name and age where possible, this didn't bring up any results.

I think it's been filed under islington. (1939 register)

I just did an open search and added the address,

hackney met b -->aliz is the lot

not that i can see any mention of Alice

Which box do I have to enter the address?

I selected the 1939 reg only, then entered the lived in box with road name, and didn't bother with much else.
