Ancestry of John Loughborough Pearson church architect

I almost feel guilty asking this. I have extensively researched the Loughborough surname in its many forms. John Loughborough Pearson, the church architect is of interest to me.  He was born in Belgium, although his father was born in Durham, as, I believe, was his grandfather. A large percentage of the Loughborough family originated from Durham so it seems highly likely that the middle name Loughborough was given to the architect as a tribute to one of his relatives. However I have been unable to find anything about John Loughborough Pearson other than what I have already stated here, and his church architecture achievements. Oh, one more thing, FamilySearch suggests that his grandfather might have been a solicitor in Durham.  I have been unable to find any marriages of a Pearson to a Loughborough in Durham records. I almost hope I don't get a reply for several weeks, but I have a worrying feeling that there will be a reply by the end of the day filling in some gaps.

I have been unable to find any marriages of a Pearson to a Loughborough in Durham records.

That looks good Jen.    When JLP married Jemima Curwen his father was named as William Pearson occ Artist.

Jen, doubly thanks. I know all the books say that you should keep a careful record of where you've searched, but I've always thought this bad advice, as you never know when things are going to be updated. That must be how I came to miss this. I think, without fully investigating this minute, I am now descended from John Loughborough Pearson's grandfather. Personally I'd have preferred a sheep stealer.  Or a notorious Highwayman.

I was in Saint Oswald's Church in Durham last summer.  You are good at this, Jen.
