Divorce Records

Does anyone know if there are records of UK divorces online?  I'm looking for a divorce in the 1940s but don't know where to start!
If they aren't available online, where is it best to look?
Thanks
Annie

Newspapers are probably your only option.

According to the National Archives only 2% of records exist after 1937
