Caroline Emma Boon
« on: Friday 08 February 19 20:53 GMT (UK) »
I have a query.

My relative Caroline Emma Boon birth reg. June qtr 1859 Aston.

I have her baptism from St Martin's, Birmingham as 30/6/1862.

On her baptism I have written in my notes that it says born 14/6/1860.

I don't have the image no more to have a look so I was wondering that you would think it would be  accurate on the baptism but the Freebmd  wouldn't be wrong either.

Yes the birthdate recorded in the baptism register is 14 June 1860.  Obviously it’s a year out if the registration took place a year earlier.  The parents had four of their children baptised together so perhaps got muddled with dates.

And she was supposedly aged 2 in the 1861 census, though in fact she was not yet 2 if born in June 1859.  Seems this family was not all that precise about ages and dates.

Ok thank you. I can't say for definate then any of the date is correct. her husband Richard Mansell died in 1921. I have looked for her in the 1939 but can't find her. I can't  find a death for her so after 1911 I don't know where she went.

I have a probate for a Richard Mansell died 22/4/1921 but he left is money to a Frederick Clare coach builder.
There again I can't say for definate  that is my Richard. I know mine did die in 1921 June qtr its the correct age.

I did find a Caroline Mansell marrying a William Hodnett in 1921 but then couldn't find a death the right age.

That 1921 census is going to be so useful. When we have it.

Frederick Clare is the executor, not necessarily the person who inherited

If it's any help to confirm or eliminate, the Richard Mansell of the probate record was living in Bankes Road. The electoral register shows him there in 1921  as well as a Thomas and Edith Griffiths

There is a death for a Caroline Mansell  1924 reg. Kings N. but the age is 87 which means she would have been born in 1837. Too far out to be an error.
