Thomas Charters Manchester General Cemetery
« on: Monday 11 February 19 22:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi there
Hope you can help me with another lookup. Have tried MCGTP but am struggling to come up with a contact address. I have Thomas Charters buried in 1897 in Manchester General Cemetery in consecrated ground, grave number 1228 [ Memorial ID 134812324 with Find A Grave]. If you are able to give me the location or a photo,I'd be most grateful. Please redirect me if required' Many thanks,
Tony

Thanks, I knew about this site-sorry if I wasn't clear: I meant, hopefully, map of the cemetery with the grave position highlighted which was impressively found some years ago with another strand of the family.
Many thanks

Hi Tony
I have checked from the burial register with another member and this is what we have

Thomas Charters aged 52 years, address: 75 Cheltenham Street, Collyhurst
3/2/1897, unfortunately if you look on the map, this grave is at the back of the cemetery highlighted in brown. We are unable to find it as that area is full of Japanese knotweed.
Hope this helps
Kind regards

Hey MGCTP Team
A bit of a blow but much appreciate your efforts. Thanks for all your help and keep up your good work- I may be back to you in time as a whole section of the family seem to have moved down from Angel Meadow toward Queen's Park over time {or at least from 1851 Census}. Anyway, thanks again! This can now be moved to COMPLETED section {?} Cheers
