William Hitch Born 1735

I have found a record for William Hitch baptised 26/01/1735 in Melbourn,Cambridgeshire.His parents are listed as William Hitch and Elizabeth.Can anyone help in finding where they where married and what Elizabeth's surname was ?

William Hitch  married  Elizabeth Davis. 20 Feb 1731/2. St Leonard, Downham, Cambridgeshire.

I am not convinced about the Hitch / Davis marriage.  There are baptisms with parents William & Elizabeth in both Downham & Melbourn including a William in both parishes. The William baptised at Downham was still living when the Melbourn one was baptised.  You may need to see the original records for the baptisms of both Williams and the burial in case there are other notes that will confirm it

Burial for Elizabeth, wife of William Hitch at Downham 11 Jan 1739.  There are still children being baptised in Melbourn with parents William /Elizabeth

Thank you for all your informative replies.I will try to follow them through but like other brickwalls I have hit I don't think I will get a conclusive answer.Wish I had a Tardis so I could go back in time to find out.
