Who did the book belong to?

Recently i was gifted an old school book from the village where my family come from, although the book sadly didnt belong to one of my ancestors.

There is beautifully written lines, with the name Harry Charnells, Measham School and the date 1866 along side it.

I would love to find out about Harry, although the only one I could find was born in 1864.

Any help would be very welcome.

Samuel's wife, Eleanor Bradford had died by 1861 and he had taken his children, Harry and Louisa, back to live with his parents, Joseph and Sarah at Donisthorpe. Samuel and Joseph were Coal Miners. Harry and Sarah would have walked nearly 3 miles to school and back each day. By 1871, Harry was boarding at Walton, Yorkshire, where he was working as a Railway Clerk.
An inquest at The Three Tuns Inn at Wakefield was held in 1872 on the body of Harry Charnells, aged 19, a Bookkeeper and son of Samuel Charnells a Wheelwright, deceased. His uncle Henry stated that he had seen Harry at Claytons Hospital the week before.

Seems Harry probably had the book from the end of primary school?

Jason, can you please share with us some info. from the book to give us an idea as to what sort of book etc?

If Harry had been famous/known, that book would be unique. I wonder if there's anything more to be found out about him i.e. his work as a Book-keeper, employer or...?

How very sad but thank you so much for the insight.

The book seems to be a handwriting book with lines in, the first page dated 7th November 1866 and the last dated January 9th 1867

The first page is several limes which all read

How about contacting Measham Church of England School and asking if they have their old Admission registers and would they check for Harry? I  would tell them why you are asking and perhaps offer them the book.

... and if the school has sadly closed, then the school record books should be available in the local records office.
