Why does irishgenealogy.ie have death records going up until the 1960s but birth and marriage records don't seem to be available if they are less than 100 years old or so.
Does anyone know why?

They did briefly have more recent information on but then removed it for data protection reasons. It's to do with data relating to someone who may still be alive. Dead people aren't covered by the data protection legislation. But anyone born within the past 100 years or married within the past 75 could still be alive.

Just as I thought because a few years ago I remember it was possible to find details of these events and then someone could order a certificate from that number.

It was only for a day or two, when they first put the images online, other wise FamilySearch have been the only ones with an index less then 100 years.

Mmm was it when the images when up.. I shall go have a look, there is a thread about it here somewhere
