Seen a few on You Tube. Got rid of the TV about 1995. Can't remember his name, not well known. American and Irish catholic. He lost interest and was disgusted when his gggrandfather or whatever was found to have been a redcoat at the Battle of Albuhera in 1811 (Peninsular war). He was lucky to survive, it was a bloodbath.

Would be nice to see John Hurt's episode again. He was quite peeved when he found there was no Irish ancestors in his blood and deffo no connection to the Marquis of Sligo.

Gosh! Imagine being disgusted!  I'm Irish and I'd be delighted to discover something so interesting in my family history. Very many Irishmen joined the British army (and the armies of many other countries) over the centuries for all sorts of reasons - political beliefs, adventure, a way to earn a living - are just three that spring to mind.

Re WDYTYA, have any of you found that watching an episode has changed your opinion of a 'celebrity'? I've sometimes found the most interesting ones to be people I've previously either disliked or never heard of.

Absolutely yes I have often changed my liking or disliking of the participants.  Jason Donovan springs to mind, never liked him before but he seemed completely down to earth and was so genuinely interested in everything discovered.

My fav episode has to be Kim Cattrell.
