I wish it was possible for you to come too - BillyF. It sounds like you either live too far away or have other commitments. I have posted as I think some RootsChatters in this area might find this event of interest.

What a heroine this woman was! I have read that she her response was one of forgiveness towards those responsible for her firing squad death. I have also read that she turned down wearing her uniform when going into the court for her trial. Someone had suggested this as they thought she might be treated with more clemency if the Germans saw her in uniform.
I think you can see the radiance and stoicism in her face as a true Christian - someone able to cast all out hate and show forgiveness instead. Quite remarkable in the way she accepted her fate.
