A Thomas Alsop married an Ann Hopkins in Westerleigh in 1779. A baptism suggests he was about 60 years old so it could be that it was his second marriage. Otherwise there may be no connection between the 1718 baptism and the marriage. I would very much appreciate it if someone is able to look up the original marriage entry to see if there is any suggestion that Thomas was a widower. Transcriptions are too frequently incomplete.
