James Fraser was the third child and a twin of my great great grandmother Charlotte. He had an elder sister, Margaret, an elder brother Patrick Lauder, and a younger brother William. James married Margaret Budd on 29th November 1850, and they had John in 1848 and Isabella in 1853. At some point after this date, James and his three brothers, all engineers, emigrated to Australia, ending up in Grafton, New South Wales. His elder sister - Margaret her husband and 13 children ended in in Dunedin, New Zealand
