The films should be open at home. And this sort of thing does happen on FamilySearch. We shall just have to be patient! Hope it's not just me.

Phew at least I now have a witness (thanks emeltom!) to show I haven't totally lost my marbles - just the images :-)

So sorry SuzieGirl, this has turned into a sort of 'Look what you 'could' have won' thing .

hopefully once Family Search have fed the hamster that turns the wheel to make all this stuff work, the images will be back.
In the meantime I'll see if I can find the images in the cache on my mac, holding breath not really an option - its been a while since I cleared the caches out.

HA HA HA ! Works every time, its sod's law :-)

As soon as I have firkled through the cache on my mac, found the images and saved them they appear again on the web!

If they disappear again before SuzieGirl has time to look, let me know and I'll put them on dropbox and PM you a link.

In the meantime,  Bootle Cemetery, Burials Register, Folio 41, entry 5693.

Some other images disappeared off FamilySearch last night, and then came back a bit later.
Let's hope SuzieGirl has now seen those burials, a wonderful find by Boo.
Download these records while you can, there is no guarantee they will be available at home for ever (witness Derbyshire!)

Hi All, would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped on this topic.  I really appreciate it.  A big thank you to Tickettyboo for your help (have sent you a private message also.)  I didn't know you could view the films on that site until you explained how to do it.  This is definitely our John and Ada of course.  Now the death cert is on order!

Hi Boo, if I wanted to check out other areas ie., Manchester how would I get into that one, I know this is the Bootle one so really unsure about how to get into other areas.  Thanks again.
I think this may well be him buried at Bootle Cemetery 12th Dec 1924
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L979-MSFW?i=81&cat=1910606

(also the next image as it was a two sided entry)

and this appears to be Ada's burial at the same Cemetery
EDIT, sorry I missed  out the date, Ada was buried 3rd March 1931)

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-8979-M3CX?i=61&cat=1910606

(again look at the next page too)

Family Search - where it says 'Search' at the top, click that and choose 'Catalogue'

You then get choices of which kind of search to do - the default is by Place
Put the place name in there ( prefixed by which ever country its in)

Now you'll see a list of what they have by category: Cemeteries, Church records etc etc

Poke around in there till you find something that looks like what you are after.

Its hit and miss, sometimes there are images - anything with a camera icon means there are, if there is a little key over the camera icon then they are only viewable at a Family History centre (unless you are a church member).

A different approach is if you have found a transcription on family search look at the info. It will tell you the film number it was transcribed from.

Searching the catalogue by film number will let you see if that film has been digitised and , if so, if the images are available to view either at home or at an FHC.
I visit the nearest FHC to me now and then to see records that are locked when I am at home.

Exploring the Family Search catalogue can be 'very' rewarding. The more you firkle round the easier it gets.
