William Brown's Family
« on: Sunday 17 March 19 10:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am unable to afford the paying sites and can only use the free ones.

So, I was wondering if anyone could help me, please.

My great-great-great grandfather, William Brown (born in Hull, I believe), had four children with his wife, Ann: John William Brown (circa 1874), George Henry Brown (circa 1884), Lucy Brown (circa 1886), and Ada Brown (circa 1890). I think they were all born in Hull, but I was wondering if anyone could find if any of them married or had children?

Thank you.

Family Search is free to use.  You will need to register, but everything else is free, so you could look for census entries.  FreeBMD for birth, marriage and death registrations, plus the new GRO facility enables mother's maiden names to be found for pre-1911 births, and ages at death for early records.  Again you have to register with your e-mail address, but no charge made for searching.

Alternatively, if you live in England (and I think Wales) then most libraries have access to Ancestry and/or FindMyPast.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I don't think this is the right one as he appears unmarried in 1901 if it's the right family.

Yeah, thank you for all your help. My Grandad loved hearing this information, especially about his grandmother, Lucy.
