In a will why does it state under £4000, why not a specific amount.

I wonder if there are further sheets in that file,  including perhaps the detailed list with itemised values to show the exact total to allow the court to agree/prove that its value was under 4000 pounds....

 Nothing itemised,  but he does state that should  his 2 daughters marry then their husbands are not to have any control over their inheritance.
