That ONE family

Is there one family that drives you to the edge of despair...


I have the   'HIMSLEYS'  hinesleys hunsleys hinchcliffes. you name it  ( ha ha) thats the way its spelt..

That starts off the problem..  the second part is they were mostly people that had 'ants in their pants' and hardly any died in the town they were born.. they popped to Australia/Canada/New Zealand and America and then home again to have babies or get married and go back to die...

eeeeek

slowly but surely I am opening the branches and lifting up the leaves but then as of today ancestry becomes UNHELPFUL  by sending me from London to America... etc..

I am holding tight to my chair for these --
Yes I am enjoying the search and discovery ... both good and bad.. some brave, and some bad.. but oh sure NOT boring...

One person has kept me in despair for over a decade and that is my missing George Hinchliffe who does something after he is 16 and disappears from my sight but I don't know what. 

I never give up on him but have to step away from time to time to keep sane!

 Well I have just cleared up two brothers

one led a seemingly respectable life in Sussex and his brother went off to NZ  and became a Career criminal...

 ::) ::)

least I got a pic of the Crim.. but on reflection, he seems to have had a lot of bad luck..

One being my great grandmothers family but only because of the internet, her maiden name was Groom and so I get all and any name popping up because of 'bride and groom' and it can be very time consuming and frustrating distregarding the majority

Yes Erato  so confusing they left me in a twirl.

the family move around an awful lot and individuals are in Scotland - Essex - etc etc at various points  ---

and as we all know if we do not fill out the information FULLY ancestry tends to think all roads lead to USA  :)

I know, such a dodgy name when I was at school I was constantly told I was spelling my own name wrong - mine doesn't have the second c but the teachers seemed to want me to put one in  :'(

My own surname of Pine throws up all sorts of unhelpful hits in a search.
There are probably several candidates for "that one family"; a couple of individuals too.  ::)
It took me 14 pre-internet years to find where my great grandfather came from in England; only by tracing all of his descendants did I find the necessary clues; someone had kept an old letter with an address at the top.
My current line(s) of research are proving to be one of the most challenging however, even with all of the online data available. And whoever said that gentry were easier to trace never looked at this lot.  ::)
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
