I'm trying to confirm the parents of my ancestor Elizabeth Upton (aka Uptin) of Beckley, Sussex. The 1851 census and death registration entry give her date of birth c.1786. She married Henry Tree at Beckley in 1804*, and produced all her know children bar one at Beckley as well.
*I have not seen the original record to confirm whom the witnesses were.
Her possible parents could be one of the following pairs:
01 Apr 1761 - Thomas Upton & Mary Buckwell - at Beckley
28 Mar 1776 - Stephen Upton of Beckley & Elizabeth Barns - at Northiam
12 Jun 1786 - Thomas Upton & Martha Bartholomew - at Beckley
Some public trees list Stephen and Elizabeth as her parents but I am yet to find a baptism entry for her.
Can anyone help me track down a record that will confirm Elizabeth's parentage?
