Hans Madsen .Eketahuna ,Horopito.Ratahi, Rotorua ,Birkdale

Hi. I am trying to track this family life from Denmark to Waiarapa North Island. I believe Hans then went with his wife Janet Templeton to Ratahi  on to Rotorua, I want to do a road trip and find some of the old sawmills and shops he owned, I found an article in the NZ Genealogy
gist which did all this but I stupidly have misplaced the article,, Should have copied it , Can anyone give me any hints, His son late Robert temple-ton Madsen .. in Birkdale was my step-father. Thanks Fred ,
