Xbox one S

Hi, please can any one tell me about xbox one s, want to update but was told you need 4k TV to play games, grandson has xbox one, I would like to get xbox one s but was recently told you would need a 4K TV to play games,
we have newish smart TV but not 4K, would Xbox One S play on this TV.

Although you need a 4K TV to get the absolute best imaging it is only one of the options available the One S will play on standard HD screens

Hi

My son has a Xbox one.  He’s had it since 2014.  He plays on a cheap TV which is older than the games console. 

I’ve just checked the specs on the new console and the 4K requirement appears to come if you want to use 4K video streaming or 4K blue tooth.

As long as your TV has hdmi you should be able to connect.
