« on: Tuesday 02 April 19 22:26 BST (UK) »
Are there any records from Belle hospital New York around 1838.
Sarah Warner died 11th May 1838 age 34 Bell Vue hospital. At this time would a death certificate be issued and if so would it be available on record today.
Sarah was buried in Pottersfield Cemetery are there any records with family details.
From the details I have Sarah was born abt 1804 Massachusetts but I cannot find any Birth details. Any details however small would be appreciated. Thank You.

I thought I had heard of Bellevue and it wasn't nice. Found this by googling for the hospital

The name of this famed hospital was once a byword for the horrors of medical and psychiatric care.

it was the one place a New Yorker didn’t want to go, because the chances were you wouldn’t come back.

Regarding her birth, if you have a town in Massachusetts or her father's name, you might find her. I found two on Familysearch.org without trying too hard. Unless you are sure of the year. I looked for 1800 to 1808.

Sarah Shipman Warner, March 1805, Hadley MA, father Jonathan

Sarah Burke Warner 8 February 1800, Bernardston MA, father Joel, mother Thankful

If you get desperate, you might trace those two women, to see if you can eliminate them. E.g, did they stay in their town and marry someone, etc.,

If you don't find her at familysearch, you might try AmericanAncestors.org, the site for the New England Hist. and Gen. Society, located in Boston. Or even archives.org for town records, though you would have to know which town. They might have them by now. Massachusetts Town records before 1850 were collected and printed in a series of books and they are probably out there somewhere for free.

not found at https://italiangen.org/search-all-databases/
(They have an index of a lot of vital records for New York City, not just for people with an Italian heritage.)

Also, "Pottersfield Cemetery" probably means in a potter's field, namely a grave for those who didn't have anyone to pay for their burial -  indigent, unknowns, etc. So you'd want to find out where Bellevue buried their indigent patients.

The Family History Centers have a death register for Manhattan covering 1811-1865, as noted here - https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/New_York_City,_New_York_Genealogy#New_York_City_Death_Records  I don't know what information is on them, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just what you already have, like a name and date of death.

Thank You for your replies. Appreciated.  I have tried different ways of looking for Sarah's death records the details I noted are the only ones I have found. It is a long story. George W Warner b Ogden NY 1835 to Esther Sarah Pierce. Father Daniel Warner.  They are listed as his parents on his marriage certificate.  I have full details of Daniel Warner but nothing of Esther. Can't prove of a marriage and it appears Daniel disowned George W as he was never mentioned in any of Daniel's history. Oddly there is a connection with George W and Daniel Warner Junior supposedly his half brother. Daniel Junior and Wife Ada are on a census as boarders with George and his family. Daniel Senior married Harriet Trimmer about 1840. Later on George W a widower married Cathryn Hancock on retirement they moved from Rochester to Manhatten. This makes me wonder if the Sarah Warner buried in Pottersfield was George's Mother and that is why he relocated to Manhatten. Again Thank You for your time.
