Burslem Cemetery
« on: Friday 05 April 19 14:36 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had a grave map for Burslem cemetery. I've found a grave on the Staffordshire Burial Indexes in which is buried 3 members of my family. I have a grave reference from the website, does anyone know how I can find whereabouts it is located in the cemetery based on this reference? I have visited many years ago but I had no idea where they were at that time (and the cemetery is huge) so I found nothing. I'm not local anymore, so its not as easy for me to get to it. I'm not expecting a headstone, but I'd like to know whereabouts they are so that when I'm next over I can pop in and say hello
Many thanks

There's an old post here on Rootschat about Burslem cemetery.

They suggest you contact the cemeteries office for a map and which block/row the grave is in.

Tel. No. 01782 235050
Fax. No. 01782 234698
Email: bereavement.care@stoke.gov.uk

Still same phone numbers and email address as far as I can see from a quick search on Google.

Hi
Not sure if much help or not, but i know you have to pay for a plot reference. What i do is if you have the grave reference is.
Go to a certain area and pick up a reference from a grave stone, you will find the grave reference on the bottom back or side of a stone.
If you do this random you should be able to pick up the area of your grave reference.
You will find very old graves don't have the number but ones near to will, just follow the numbers, allowing for spaces with no stones.
Hope this makes sense, its better than paying, and a lot more fun. Spent many of hours finding my relatives without maps, just the grave ref.

Hi,
I have come across the grave map but I'm unsure how to read it. I'm looking for a grave ref14929.
I would appreciate any help in locating this area.
Thanks
