Alice Davies

I've got myself into a bit of a muddle with a family descendant. I'm looking for the birth record and parents of Alice Davies (Davis) b1885, I have her wedding cert in 1907 to Charles (Henry) Jinks where helpfully it gives her age as 22yrs as opposed to "of full age etc". I also have her birthday as recorded on the 1939 register as 17/1/1885, which ties in nicely with her age on her marriage cert. Her father is recorded as William Davies on the wedding cert, but struggling to get a register of her birth and her mothers maiden name. Can't seem to locate her for certain on either the 1891 or 1901 census's either. This is all based in and around Stoke upon Trent or Staffs. The address for the 1939 entry is 1 Duncan Street, Stoke on Trent, and her and Charles are transcribed as Jinnks. Thanks for any help in advance as usual. - richard

I can't seem to see a marriage for William and Charlotte E anywhere, or birth records for the children indicating the Charlotte's maiden name. Is it possible they didn't officially get married and just adopted the name for the census, or am I being spectacularly dim and just missing it?
