possibly Oldham, Binny or Lovering
« on: Saturday 13 April 19 19:31 BST (UK) »
Please can anyone date this photograph and/or estimate the age of the sitter.  Likely surnames are Oldham, Binny or Lovering from Padstow, Portsmouth and Bristol respectively.  The image was scanned from a slide which, unfortunately, carries no information as to the original source which was possibly an oil painting.

Any help will be much appreciated, thank you.

Not sure of dating - I know that it's often difficult to date men's photos as fashions didn't change much, and in fact here you can't see a great deal of his clothing.

In terms of age I'd say late twenties or thirties.

Hope that might help just a bit!

Thank you IgorStrav, I agree that the sitter looks to be late twenties early thirties.  I'm just hoping that someone who looks at the picture might be knowledgeable about men's neckwear fashions as I think the wide knot in the tie may be diagnostic
