THANKS William - that is actually a very good shout - just checked - Cheadle to Heaton Norris is 3 miles - so definitely one to note ...did it give any ages of groom / bride ??

I can't see them going 7 years before their first child is born - so - I need to see if there are any Coxon born Cheadle to John / Martha 1797-1804 before I dismiss Martha Royle

No births in Cheshire for Coxon - parents John / Martha between 1797 and 1804...so that 7 years now puts a damper on Martha Royle ?

The record I found is in the Cheshire Bt's. Unfortunately there is no further detail.

Agree that that is a bit of a gap before  children come along.

No help with your actual query but I have Coxon in my tree often to be found spelled as Croxon or Croxton so don't forget to look for these possibilities.

There is a James Cason, son of John and Martha bapt 6th Feb 1803 in Stockport. Birth looks like 31st Dec.

Also Samuel Cookson (Cockson?) on 17th April 1801 born 27th Jan in Stockport.
