That is a shame.  It may have helped locate them on electoral registers.

Have you considered the possible John (Frederick) in Plymouth in 1939

Sorry, I am not allowed to give details from 1939 register.

I have just tried searching the database on Ancestry Frederick Bailey born c 1906 (same as his wife) living Plymouth and it was the first result.  On FindMyPast I did the same search which gives the entry as John (Frederick).  Could this be him

I just had another go and I see there are a few that could be him. The problem I have, not knowing who his parents were makes it a hit and miss. I think the only way to know the exact truth is to get the marriage certificate. That will have his parents’ names.  If you find anything that you think might help and you can’t post it could you p m me. Why aren’t you aloud to post the info? Thank you for your help.

Marriage cert will only have father's names.

1939 Register is still copyright; so we aren't allowed to post data from that.
You are supposed to pays for a subscription in order to see.

Your local County library should have free access to Ancestry and often FindMyPast too.

There is only one possibility born c1906 which would make him a similar age to his wife.

Marriage cert is your only real option to get his fathers name
