WW1 regiment

I've come across a MIC for Capt. Leonard Foster Browne - it gives his regiment as RGMC.  Could someone please tell me what RGMC is please? thank you.

It's possibly a bad transcription as FindMyPast has his regiment as RAMC - Royal Army Medical Corps.

I did consider that but have just found this site:

which mentions RGMC - so confused

As there are several Royal Guernsey regiments could it be Royal Guernsey Medical Corps which would go with the previous link.

If you have access to British newspapers there is an article in 'Penrith Observer 27 March 1945' on Leonard Foster Browne when he was standing for election. The article records Leonard as Lieut. Col, son of John Laing Browne. It includes all his medical background and in the Great War served with RAMC. He became a Major in the RAMC in 1940.

In 1923 Leonard married Violet Bott, they have one son and two daughters.

There was in fact only one named Guernsey regiment in the Great War - the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry.

A coincidence of two wrong transcriptions.  As well as the documents already mentioned, his appearances in the London Gazette in the Great War and in the Second War are all in the RAMC.
