KIDD, George Edwin - Died Grahamstown 1891

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to confirm when George Edwin Kidd arrived in South Africa.

George was born on 27 September 1860 in Old Machar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  His parents were George Pickford Kidd and Sophia Nelson who married in Old Machar on 30 December 1859.

On the 1861 England Census, Sophia Nelson Kidd age 25 (born in Ireland) and George Edwin Kidd age 7 months are aboard a vessel called the Norman.  There is no destination shown for this vessel.

From the South Africa Settlers site I see that this George Edwin Kidd died in Grahamstown on 6 February 1891.  His spouse was Frances Meintjes.

George's father George Pickford Kidd was born on 30 June 1835 in St Nicholas, Aberdeenshire, parents John Simpson Kidd and Margaret Stratton.

From the South Africa Settlers site I see another son of John Simpson Kidd and Margaret Stratton,  John Robertson Kidd born 10 July 1837 in St Nicholas died in Cape on 15 July 1878.  His spouse was Consance E.

Any other information about George Edwin Kidd or his family gratefully received.

The Norman left Plymouth on 6 April and arrived at the Cape of Good Hope on 14th May.

I see that there are a number of death notices and some estate files for the various Kidd's online. Do you have these?

Thank you - I have enough information to confirm that this was not the George Kidd I was looking for at the time.

I believe I have since found the right George Kidd elsewhere.
