Hi, I'm looking for advice where is best to search history of an address but not a name??

I'm trying to piece together the history of 62 Station road bill quay Gateshead.

Where would be best to search census record?

Thanks x

Hello
It 's a bit of a struggle but yes I would go for Censuses and Electoral registers first.
It looks like in 1901 that it was a butcher's shop
Thomas Reay 43 butchers shop
Maria 42
Mary E 19
Annie M B 18
Jane E 15
John R 13
Thomas H 11
Theodora P 9
Herbert 7
Victoria E A 3

All born Bill Quay.
They are gone by 1911 when it is a grocers shop from Directories run by Mary Ann smith widow.

Maps could also help, especially the tithe maps if the house was built that early.
The National Library of Scotland has ordinance survey maps for all of the country.

The 1901 census does not have any house numbers.
