Hi,
Marriage record of 9 Sept 1867 is correct. It does not name  Harriet Walker's father. It gives a father for Thomas Bulman, also Thomas (dec). Thomas is aged 20, however I have not been able to find him with any certainty in the 1851 and 1861 census returns or a baptismal record. He is also missing in 1881 and in 1901 he is not living with Harriet.
Harriet's mother Margaret is also elusive. She married twice but I have been unable to track her from 1851 to 1891. She suddenly appears in 1901 as a widow in the All Saints area.
All very frustrating.

1853 marriage to John Hunter Forster at All Saints
1856 Robert John Forster born
1861 census
1865 possible daughter Ruth Forster
1867 Ellen Forster born
1867 John Hunter Forster witness at Harriet Walker's marriage
1871 marriage of Margaret Foster (wid) to Thomas Jons at St Andrews
1871 census
1881 census
1891 census she is living with John Edward Robson and his wife Ruth -described as mother (wid)
1901 census still with this family

I can find no records showing her living with a husband or child before 1891

From GRO site:

Robert John Forster - June quarter 1856 - NoT - mmn = Walker

Ruth Forster - March quarter 1865 - NoT - mmn = Walker

I can't see a registration for Ellen Forster in NoT with mmn = Walker.

Ellen is recorded as FOSTER rather than FORSTER - Q4 1867 NUT mother's maiden name WALKER.

Robert Foster son unm 15 laborer b Newcastle
Ruth Foster dau 6 scholar b Newcastle

and 1861 this

Painter Haugh 5 Pilgrim Street All Saints

John Foster 29 Tailor
Margaret Foster wife 30
Robert Foster son  5

For some reason places of birth are not shown on the 1861 census - they are at the bottom of the page but the last pob on page is Newcastle. The enumerator may have simply omitted to write "do".

The surname is definitely Foster on both originals and so not an error on transcriptions. Forster/ Foster are so close and easy to mix up.

That 1871 would fit because she didn’t  marry Thomas Ions until 29th May, well after the census.
