Witnesses at wedding - Ballyconnell
« on: Friday 17 May 19 14:19 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Is anyone able to decipher the forename of the first witness in the attached screenshot?

I make it out as "Johans" maybe?

Thanks in advance:)

It was James, but has been overwritten with John.

Not being familiar with Irish certificates I am not sure if they are the original signatures of both of the witnesses. Not sure if it makes sense that the first witness would make a mistake with his own name though there might be a reason for it, or some kind of mix-up.

They appear to be written by different people rather than someone filling in the whole form.
