« on: Friday 17 May 19 21:02 BST (UK) »
Hi all, anyone know where I could find LMS Drivers service records, theres some LNWR records on ancestry but not the LMS. Would they be kept at York rail museum do you think or at Kew?
Thanks Mick

The national archives seem to say that LMS records can be viewed at ancestry.

Others have had some information from the trade union records at Warwick university

Most railway companies had a society similar to the Great Northern Railway Friendly society, which because the railways had no sick pay for wages grade staff until the early 1960s at least represent a virtual census of all staff in the company emloyment. I have used the GN records to great effect, as I come from a railway family. For the LMS I would suggest similar records MIGHT be found at Derby archives.
