Marriage
« on: Monday 27 May 19 15:23 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Marriage and death of Anne Parkin. I think she married William Robson around 1804 somewhere in Northumberland. William Robson was born in Bywell in 1786 and Anne Parkin was born in Christ Church in 1789 although I cannot find any proof either in Ancestry or Family Search. It would be great if someone could help me out with a little information if possible on the marriage and the death of Anne Parkin.
Thanks George

The only marriage I can find in the time frame is a William Robson who married an Ann Jobling 1/12/1804 Bywell, Northumberland (where you say William was born).

William and Anne had a son Born April 6th- Babtised April 9th 1809. I only do direct family so I don't know if there is any other children. It reads 1st son of William Robson, Pitman, in the parish of Chollerton by his wife Ann daughter of Roger Parkin in the parish of Simonburn. The end of Parkin is blacked out so maybe it could be Parker. Thank you so much for answering me back.

Thanks Annette for answering me back. I think I am getting way out with this Anne Parkin. She is certainly mentioned on her sons birth certificate but it states her fathers name is Roger. I have a birth wrote down for Anne 26th April 1789, Christ Church,Tynemouth which I cannot remember where I got it from saying her father is called Anthony, yet on the birth certificate of Mathew it states her father is Roger. Hope I am not mixing you up any more than I am confused about it. Thanks again George

I suspect that Ann's surname was Parker.

Marriage in Birtley, Northumberland 2 Dec 1804 of William Robson and Ann Parker.

This would appear to be confirmed by having looked at siblings for you - Isabella baptised in Ovingham 8 June 1805 and Margaret Born April 16 bap Aug 20  " 2nd daughter of Wm Robson, Pitman, Native of the Parish of Chollerton by his wife Ann dau of Roger Parker Nat. Par of Simonburn". I have transcribed the latter from the Birtley BTs. and   I am sure the surname is Parker. The Birtley Bts can be accessed via the Familysearch catalogue.

There seem to be a number of siblings also baptised in Falstone. Bt for Roger Parker has this in 1792.

Feb 4th Roger, son of Roger Parker and Margaret his wife of Donklywood. (Elswhere transcriptions have son's name as Robert).

Donklywood showing as Donkleywood can be easily found on Google maps etc. in the North Tyne Valley between Falstone village and Greystead.
