Request for marriage of Mary Newell, born 1823 Tadlow Cambs

Mary Newell, baptised 23nov1823 Tadlow Cambs, is the daughter of John Newell and Sarah Cape. She is second of seven children, all born between 1821 and 1833, all in Tadlow.

In 1843, when she was aged 20 she gave birth to an illegitimate son, William Muncey Newell, who was christened, in Tadlow, 13aug 1843. The father is not named on his birth certificate

I know a lot about William. He married one Mary Brocket in 1867, produced nine children and died 1887, all in Tadlow (Hooks Mill Farm)

Frustratingly I have found nothing about what happened to Mary after 1843. I'd like to find out if she married, but I have found no candidates in local parish registers. FreeBMD lists several candidate marriages of Mary Newell in Roystom or Cambs but too many to start ordering certificates. I'd also like to find out when/where she died...

Can someone see her in the 1851 Tadlow Census or similar. Does anyone have any other information from other sources ... or suggestions?

Have you got him in 1851/1861 before he married?

Muncey is an odd middle name, could be a clue to the father.

A family tree has 1851 census with William 7 down as son of John and Sarah plus a Fanny age 2 - I wonder if Mary was her mother too.

The 1844 marriage Mary Newell to James King shows her father as John so might be worth checking that one out. 

Sorry don't have full details but it was Royston and 21 Jun 1844.

Could look for that couple in 1851 to see if Mary's birth place and year match with your Mary, if not can rule her out. 

Added - well she's born about the same time but always gives Royston as birth place

Re the name Muncey, I'm sure the father must have been Muncey. It is a fairly common surname in the area. I just imagine hime sitting in a pew at back of church on the Sunday when child was baptised and going red as the name was announced by the vicar.

When you say 'a family tree has 1851 census...' how do I find that. Apologies for ignorance.

Birth registrations of children Ann (1848) and James (1849) have Newell as mother's maiden name.
