Seeking further details of marriage entry for JOHN GARDNER and ELIZABETH TILL in St Chad's Church Shrewsbury, 9 Nov 1818.

1. Is John Gardner's father named in the marriage record?
2. It's been suggested that John Gardner came from Tewkesbury, Glos, but I can't find any confirmation - please can you assist?

They married by Licence and were both of the parish - bachelor & spinster.  Both signed -no mention of any relations. witnesses John Evans & Elizabeth (France?)

If you have access to these registers for St Chads in Shrewsbury, are there any other entries for TILL, in the preceding years? I'm looking for evidence of Elizabeth TILL's father William TILL who I believe was baptised in Shrewsbury (1770s?), and the marriage of his parents, who were poss. William TILL and Mary, but I don't know which church...

 They do not seem to name a child Nicholas.

This is definitely the right Gardner family, and the census entries you quote show John Gardner was born in Tewkesbury, brilliant.

Please, just one more thing: can you see anywhere a first marriage for John Gardner's son Charles Frederick Bayley/Bailey Gardner... I can't find it... The B'ham census gives Charles' first wife as 'Elizabeth' and their first child 'Elizabeth Till Gardner' was born about 1852, B'ham.  The marriage was probably Warwickshire, B'ham... The Gardner sometimes comes up as Gardiner, Gardener, Gardaner.
