In memory of my Great Uncle Sjt David Denoon MM, S/40914, who joined the Gordon Highlanders in 1915 and served with the Lovat Scouts on the Western Front, winning the Military Medal for gallantry in the field in July 1917. The son of David and Jessie (Murdoch) Denoon, of Moss of Meft Elgin, he died on 2 May 1919 and is remembered with Honour in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
