Where is the 3rd child

John Charles Broad and Elizabeth Amelia Rogers both born 1876 Bristol, married 1900 Bristol.  According to the 1911 census they had 3 children, 1 had died.  The 2 living children are Frederick James John Broad b 1902 and Lilian Charlotte b 1903, I have gone though the GRO Records but cannot find the 3rd child,hopefully someone can find the child's birth reg.

Any help would be appreciated

Did you look for births and deaths or just births?

Sometimes you can find it by a death and work back for the birth (name could be spelled incorrectly on one record for example)

Will have a look.  No children yet on the 1901 census I take it.

An****ry has a Reginald Broad baptised at Holy Trinity, St Phillip, Bristol on 28 Feb 1900 s/o John & Eliza Broad.

Might this be your missing child - when were your John and Elizabeth married?

Scrub this, just found John and Eliza in the 1901 census with quite a family.

Artifis, yes I have checked him mother's surname is different. They married on the 15th January 1900 at Easton St Lawrence Bristol.

It could be a misunderstanding of the census instructions and the 3rd child was stillborn, and so no public record exists

I have a family where several children cannot be found in birth death or baptismal registers

Yes you could be right Marmalady, or the baby had just died before they could register the birth let alone the death. Very sad.
