« on: Tuesday 18 June 19 08:39 BST (UK) »
Hi:)
Helping a Friend research her Direct Line of Plunkett From Newry Armagh That came to Australia
Her gggrandfather Was DAvid James Plunkett born 25 Dec 1833 According to researchers  He Came to Australia in 1852    and Married Elizabeth Kenny in 1854 In Adelaide South Australia(witness at Marriage was a John Plunkett) Father not listed on Marriage.
He was a Gaol Warden in Mt Gambier South Australia
Apparently he had a Brother John Plunkett Who was Born circa 1830s and Served in The Army In India.David was Also in the Army in 1848  In Ireland
Is anyone researching this Family please

Hi Hallmark
Thanks for replying  Just checked the Newry Armagh Registers(catholic) No Sign of him there
His Wife Elizabeth Kenny Was Catholic tho...Unsure of His Denomination
I think the John who was a Witness at their marriage may have been Davids Brother..John

I did this Search on https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp and there are only 5 deaths registered https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ny3/  gets them but you have to do security check and put initials in to gets through to them

Looking at these... they are Warrenpoint

so  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0441 Warrenpoint could be worth checking!  As you can see on Map....beside Newry!
