Rose Jackson
« on: Tuesday 18 June 19 10:33 BST (UK) »
Hi, I need some help please.

My grandmother told me that her mother, Winifred Jackson (my great-grandmother) told her that her husband, Albert Henry Cawthorn (my great-grandfather) was married before to a woman named Rose Jackson with whom he had two daughters (Brenda and Margaret). The rest of the story is that Albert worked on the barges and a heavily-pregnant Rose was with him, went into labour, and both she and the baby died. But I cannot find anything to substantiate this-not even a death date.

Any help please?

You must surely have the date for a marriage or a birth year for winifred?

Was AH Cawthorn the one who was b 1911 and died 1998?

There is a marriage - June Quarter 1939 - Hull Registration District - Alfred H Cawthorn and Rose Jackson.

Added:  Hull Register Office/Registrar attended

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The daughters are too recent to name on here, but see FreeBMD:

Daughter 1: Jun qtr 1940 Hull
Daughter 2: Mar qtr 1942 Hull
Son (poss): Dec qtr 1943 Holderness (Albert Cawthorn- likely death aged 0, Mar qtr 1944 Hull)

Nothing around the time of the 1945 death, but that is consistent with a stillbirth.
