The young man in the centre of this photograph visited my family for my great grandma's 80th birthday in 1957. I believe great grandma's brother (Herbert Woodward, b 1874) may have emigrated from England to Canada in 1891 so this is possibly a descendent of his. It would be amazing if anyone happened to recognise this man and could tell me who he is.

Here's hoping!
Joanne

Presume great grandma was Louisa Humphrey -

Louisa Humphrey    80 years     Middleton    10e   495 - death registered June 1958

UK Incoming Passenger List - Montreal to Liverpool -William Humphrey aged 50 years - Elizabeth Humphrey aged  48 - 20 August 1948 on the Ascania - going to 18 Green Street Middleton. William was an agent. Intended to live in England.

So could the photo be a friend they met in Canada ? Or someone who served here during WW2  ???

This couple lived at that same address in 1939

Sandra

UK Outward trip - William Humphrey aged 50 years (insurance) - Elizabeth Humphrey aged 48 years - both of 18 Green Street Middleton Lancashire.  Liverpool to Montreal 6 May 1948 on the Ascania.

So they went to Canada for a few months but this one doesn't tell us where  ???
