Walter Innes and Bessy Innes
« on: Tuesday 25 June 19 01:50 BST (UK) »
I recently had the pleasure of discussing with you the family of William Innes with Issobell Innes and then with Elspet Innes . Thank you for that'
William and Issobell had a child called Wa.Innes born 24 Oct.1633.
At the age of 14 this ( Wa. or Walter by the IGI )Walter married Bessy Innes on the the 6 July 1647.
I believe I know what it says but I would appreciate your translation  of this extract
William in Montrewal

I wonder if this really is the same Walter Innes? Although the minimum legal age for marriage for a male was 14, it was very rare to marry as young as this, as few 14 year old boys would be able to maintain a wife and family. Not all baptisms and marriages were recorded at the time, and of those that were, many records are lost. There would have to be other corroborating evidence (e.g. from a sasine) before you could be sure this is the same person.
