Hello there,

I am trying to find more information on Bridget McGorry/McGoury/McGory

She was born about 1820 in Draperstown, Londonderry (some place in Draperstown called 'Corrick'). She married Farrell Cleary, but I am not sure when; as I can't find the marriage record. Farrell was born in 1805 in Draperstown. I think the family stayed in the same area their whole lives, I find some baptism records for Bridget and Farrell's children in the old parish of Ballynascreen.

They had a son James Cleary (my 2x great grandfather), born 1848. The residence of the family at the time is listed as 'Corrick'. I don't know who he married or anything much about him sadly, but he had a daughter Mary Ann Cleary, who was born in about 1887 in Londonderry.

They had a son John Cleary born 1858, again residence is 'Corrick' in Draperstown.

They had a daughter Catherine Cleary, born 1864 in Draperstown.

I think Bridget died in 1882 in Magherafelt. Anything else anyone can find about when the marriage was, or about the family - I would be so grateful. Thank you!

You've already been given quite a bit of help on previous topic-

Instead of guessing ("think Bridget died in 1882 in Magherafelt" and "I don't know who he married or anything much about him sadly, but he had a daughter Mary Ann Cleary, who was born in about 1887 in Londonderry") start searching the records yourself- Mary's Ann's birth will show mother's name, etc.

Sorry, I've just hit a brickwall again with this line of the family. I am not guessing, she did die in 1882. :) I have tried searching on that site, and it says no results available when I search for her birth in Derry.

......(some place in Draperstown called 'Corrick').

Corick townland is in the Civil Parish of Ballynascreen in County Londonderry. It is south of the town of Draperstown.

I still don't understand why you say you are at a dead end. "They had a son James Cleary (my 2x great grandfather), born 1848. The residence of the family at the time is listed as 'Corrick'. I don't know who he married or anything much about him sadly, but he had a daughter Mary Ann Cleary, who was born in about 1887 in Londonderry."

Birth for Mary Ann Cleary in 1886 gives mother as Margaret Conlan-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1886/02585/1955512.pdf

Marriage of James & Margaret confirm his father's name as Farrel and residence as Corrick-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1868/11446/8204698.pdf

This could be James & family in 1901-

and in 1911-
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Londonderry/Iniscarn/Longfield/610471/

Possibly James- note date of grant for both him & Daniel below-
Cleary Daniel of Longfield county Londonderry farmer died 27 November 1928 Administration (with Will) (limited) Belfast 29 October to Francis Cassidy lead refiner. Effects £5.
Possibly son Daniel in both census records-
Cleary Daniel of Longfield county Londonderry farmer died 27 November 1928 Administration (with Will) (limited) Belfast 29 October to Francis Cassidy lead refiner. Effects £5.

There's lots more to be found online but you do have to look for it.
