GREEN, May Florence

I am searching for information regarding my great-aunty, May Florence Green, particularly when/where she died and where she is buried.  Info I have includes: DOB 1/2/1894 Whittlesey Cambridgeshire, parents George Demetrius Green and Ellen Green (Hart/Garton).  Siblings Albert Demetrius; Emily Eliza (came to Western Australia 1923); Percy Irene and Helena.  At some stage the family lived in Balby Doncaster.  May Florence had a son, Peter Brian Green in 1932.  On the 1939 UK Register May Florence lived in Bexhill, Sussex. Unfortunately I have no other information past this date and would be really grateful if someone can help.  Many thanks

The only death I can see on free bmd is below but there are also a few possible marriages.

If you’ve identified the right parents, she was actually a year younger than that I think.

Birth registered as Florence May Green, mother’s maiden name Garton, Mar qtr 1895 Whittlesey 3b 588.

Thanks so much for your info avm228 and Colin.  I am quite sure George Demetrius Green and Ellen Green (Hart/Garton) are her parents. It appears that early in her life she was listed as Florence May and in later years May Florence.  She is listed as May Florence on her son's (Peter) birth certificate. My grand-mother Emily Rosher (nee Green, Florence's sister) called her May and also "Aunt Dot" when talking to her own children.  Florence May may not have married.

If there are no other surnames showing for her in 1939, then those possible marriages in the 1940's are ruled out, and there would be an assumption that she did not marry unless somewhere abroad.  So that death in Lambeth looks a distinct possibility.

Thankyou chempat and garstonite for your help.  I have ordered the Lambeth Death Certificate for May Florence through GRO UK so hopefully that will shed some light on May Florence and possibly her son Peter Brian Green.  My 92-year-old Aunty, who lives here in Western Australia and is May Florence's niece, has little information of either May or Peter.  I am grateful for any information that I can add to my search and to pass onto my Aunty, she is very keen to know more about her extended family in the UK.

A big thankyou again to everyone for your suggestions re Florence May,  I have received her death certificate from GRO UK.  She died in Lambeth (27/3/1968) and I have been able to find her son Peter and also contact her grand-children.  An amazing result, thank you all again!
